Manage Recordings

Preview, delete, edit, or download your recordings in one simple place. This gives you all of the control you need to effectively manage your recordings before sharing them.

Set recording type

  1. To check or change the type of recording you are using, select your profile icon and then Settings >Meeting >Content .
  2. In the Recordings section, select the location you want to store recordings, either locally in a designated folder or online.

Note: The type of recording available on your account depends on what your account admin has enabled in the admin settings.

Manage online recordings

  1. Sign in to the GoTo web or desktop app.
  2. Select Meetings >Past and then enable the Recorded setting to filter recorded sessions.

Find Online Recordings

Troubleshooting: If you don't see the desired session, use the filter to expand the list from the last 7 days to 30 days or 12 months as needed. You can also check your settings to see the storage option you have selected for your account (see Set recording type for instructions).

Note: Sessions recorded locally should already be available on your computer.
  1. Select the Sharing icon.
  2. Choose the desired expiration date.
Note: By default, recording links expire after a year unless changed by an account admin.

Note: If the fields are grayed out, check with your admin to see if sharing has been enabled. If an attendee can't view the recording, it's likely too long or has expired.

  1. Select the Meeting Info icon to access and download the slidedeck PDF.
  2. Share as desired.

Note: Slides are available after the recording has been processed and saved which may take some time.

Remember: Your session history data (including the recording) is stored in your account for 365 days. If you need a recording available longer, we recommend downloading the file. If it is prior to the year mark and you cannot find your recording, check the expiration date setting above.

Manage local recordings

By default, local recordings are stored in your computer's Documents folder as .WEBM files. The name of the file includes the date, time, and meeting name. You can change the folder recordings save to as desired.

  1. Open the File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) on the computer of the person who started the recording.
  2. Find and select the folder you saved your recordings to.
  3. Find the desired recording in the folder.
  4. Optional: To convert the recording to a different file format, please use a third-party service such as Handbrake.
  5. Optional: To edit the recording, you will need to convert it as mentioned above (specifically to an .MP4 file) and then use another third-party editing software such as TechSmith Camtasia®.
