Customers of LV home insurance should beware that LV have a practice of emailing you to confirm that your home buildings insurance policy has been renewed, then if there is a payment problem they just cancel the policy.
In my case they had out of date card details. No phone call, no letter just an email to say your policy has already been cancelled - and the title of the email doesn't mention this.
Which means your home is un-insured.
How long for will depend on when you see and react to the email, it may have gone to your spam folder. or you may miss it.
When I called to put it right LV then quoted me more than double the previous year's price.
I have only made one home buildings claim in more than 40 years (and that was about 10 years ago) so there was no clear reason for the ludicrous LV price increase.
Needless to say I got a policy with a reputable insurer for less than half what LV wanted.
Alternatively customer provides contact details, fails to keep track of renewal date and ignores communication from insurance company - not quite sure where the issue is

They had sent an email specifically saying the policy HAD BEEN RENEWED. Communication was not ignored - they chose to cancel the policy rather than make an effort to contact the customer first.
Most people would think it fair to expect a company to check they had up to date payment details BEFORE emailing to confirm that the policy had been renewed.
if you are still not quite sure about where the issues is you could read right the way through to them then more that doubling the price,
